I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy working with the staff of Talking Communities. Many people may not know that this whole technology was developed so that blind people could get on the computer and talk to each other, and from there we have this wonderful product that allows us to talk, share documents and also deliver power point and video clips. Now, not only do we have this wonderful technology at a reasonable price, but you've got the best staff in the world to help us when we need it. All of us are using different operating systems and different versions of software. We also have all different levels of computer skills. I had to load a new presentation into one of our rooms tonight, and couldn't get it to load. I called in for technical help. This was about 1-1/2 hours before I was to start. Clyde suggested I try downloading the plug in, as mine was an older version. That didn't work. I'm now getting panicky. I called back and he stayed right on the phone with me. He taught me how to zip the file - save it - then load that into the room. It took. He then waved his magic wand - not really, he did something with some kind of technology and converted the file. He then loaded it into the room in the right format and didn't leave until I was able to work it on my end and tried a few slides to know everything was working properly. Outstanding customer service. I can't thank you and the rest of the staff there at Talking Communities for all you do for me in my business. Keep up the good work.

I'd like to say thank you to the folks at Talking Communities for the assistance they have given us in developing a voice chat community site. Since we are a group of blind and visually impaired folks your client easily fit our needs and easily allowed us to bring a major influence in the lives of our members. Particularly I'd like to commend your technical support department for giving of their time even in off-hours for the little problems we've encountered. Keep up the good work, Talking Communities, In The Blind Spot is very pleased to be a part of your family as well as you a part of ours.

We began our search for online meeting technology for the purpose of connecting isolated learners around the world who wouldn't have the means to travel (http://www.devedinternational.net/). We'd learned about Talking Communities technology through taking a course offered by Athabasca University. You are a great bunch of helpful and faith-filled people. We initially chose Talking Communities because of price, but also quickly discovered the great service. We've received remarkable ongoing help from Clyde Foley (tech support). Response time has always been prompt. The audio room and the recording of audio conferencing are the most used features. NGO's and informal learners overseas do not have the funds for meeting face-to-face. There are incredible stories of people who, for example, have fasted at noon in order to save the 60 cents to go to an Internet cafe and meet online. Knowing that people value such contact is priceless encouragement for us to continue using Talking Communities technology

Some years ago Dawn Turco, our Senior VP, participated in an online event hosted by Talking Communities. She liked the format and decided to launch our own series of interactive webinars (http://www.hadley.edu). A combination of features attracted us to Talking Communities, including accessibility for the blind and visually impaired users, as well as reasonable cost. Talking Communities technology offered accessibility features, ease of use, scalability, and the ability to customize registration to fit our needs. The product was so easy to use; there was almost no need to use documentation. The support has been great, and it’s nice to see such responsiveness to comments or feature requests. Response times have always been quick; we have no complaints there as far as I can remember. The primary features we use are voice and text chat. As well, the ability to archive our seminars is invaluable. We also used synchronized browsing for a few events. Our seminars are available to participants free-of-charge, which we wouldn’t be able to offer with the higher costs of traditional telephone conferencing.

I had been using Talking Communities software for many years, and when I needed an accessible online web conferencing tool for teaching online courses at the university graduate level, this was the obvious choice. I first learned about Talking Communities many years ago from several friends who are blind. They were using online conferencing through Talking Communities because they found it accessible and easy to use. The fact is that the Talking Communities products are accessible to people who are visually impaired and they are so easy to use. I have seen the Talking Communities technologies expand and grow over the years, and am impressed they remain committed to being accessible and user friendly. I find tcConference to be the most accessible, user friendly, cost effective, and powerful web conferencing tool of all the ones that I have used or researched for use. The documentation and support have been excellent, although I have found that much of tcConference is intuitive and doesn't need extensive training or support. The response time for inquiries has been very prompt, responding within 24 hours. The audio capability for announcing what happens on the screen, application and document sharing, recording presentations and publishing for future viewing, polling, text messaging, accessing the Internet for all to follow, showing streaming flash videos through the Internet, converting PowerPoint presentations for showing in online sessions … all of these features are used. tcConference is a major tool used in the online programs at the Northeast Regional Center for Vision Education (www.nercve.org), used for virtual office hours, committee and faculty meetings, group projects, and class presentations in the training of teachers both nationally and internationally. The use of online web conferencing eliminates the need for people to travel to attend these meetings. This is a huge cost savings.
